Could you please throw some light on the benefits of installing solar rooftops compared confining only to the conventional power?
Solar is now the cheapest source of power. It is 100% clean power compared to conventional power like fossil fuel and can easily work along with other sources of power like conventional power or DG sets. It helps customers reduce their electricity bills significantly. A solar rooftop system pays itself. Customers can expect payback within 3-4 years

How are you managing in these difficult times both on the front of day-to-day work, managing teams, and business operations?
As a company, we have always had teams and people spread across the country, so working remotely is normal. However, the lockdown presented new challenges, especially around supply chain and logistics. Localized lockdowns also complicate matters. Finally, while we were back to work in Mid-April because Solar was deemed an essential service, safety of all our employees remains a top priority

How has the lockdown impacted your business?
On the business front, we are witnessing increased demand from customers across the country. With more people working from home, electricity bills have increased substantially. So, people are exploring solar as an option to get rid of these monthly expenses. In the first quarter of this financial year, we have managed to grow ~100% compared to the same period last year. Our project execution strategy has to be nimble to evolve to the ever-changing situation on the ground.

What is your future plan for the company?
At Freyr, we believe that anyone who uses electricity from the grid or diesel can switch to solar and become part of this green energy movement. Prospective customers in India are spread across 3,000 cities and towns. We are excited to announce the launch of our SunPro+ App to engage with all of them. This App allows homeowners and businesses to explore, own and experience solar with ease. Customers will be able to make the switch to solar confidently and realize their goals from solar, whether that is maximum savings in electricity bills or no dependence on coal-based power or something else.
