14 Projects sanctioned by CCI so far
The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) has sanctioned 14 highway projects so far since its constitution on July 11, 2009. The 12 Member Committee headed by the Prime Minister considers proposals for all infrastructure projects costing over Rs150 crore. The total cost of the sanctioned projects (including cost towards land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation and pre-construction) is Rs.12992.63 crore.
Of the projects awarded, 5 are in West Bengal, 2 each in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Karnataka, and one each in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Himachal Pradesh.The construction period for these projects vary from 24 to 36 months. Of the 14 projects, the project in Bihar (Hazipur (Patna) – Muzaffarpur on NH-77) has already been awarded. Rests of the projects are at various stages of award. Some of the other projects include construction of 4 lane highway on Moradabad-Bareilly stretch on NH-24, Hyderabad-Yadgiri stretch on NH-202, and Rohtak-Panipat stretch on NH-71A.
