GE Power India bags contract from NTPC for thermal power project

The order has been bagged for supply and installation of wet FGD systems

GE Power India has bagged contract from NTPC for its Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Project Stage-I, II and III, five x 210 MW.

The order has been bagged for supply and installation of wet flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) systems for a value of Rs 6,900 million (USD 97 million) with common absorber (combination of multiple boiler units).

This is the first time that GE Power in India has been awarded a project to install common absorber for a combination of multiple boiler units. The project will be located in Unchahar, Uttar Pradesh. It intends to remove SO2 from flue gas generated by coal-fired boilers in the respective plants in order to comply to environmental new emission norms issued.
