Casa Grande launches ‘Tree of Joy’ initiative
Casa Grande Pvt. Ltd., one of the largest real estate developers in Chennai, announced today ‘Tree of Joy’ initiative supported by Chennai City Corporation and in association with Fever 91.9 FM, Round Table of India & Lady Circle of India. Under this initiative, the listeners of Fever FM will form clusters to plant trees as an initial measure in and around Chennai to recompense the devastation caused by the recent cyclone, Vardah.
The ‘Tree of Joy’ initiative started with the registration process on 4th January and will end on 15th January 2017 where listeners will be invited to form clusters under five RJ’s of Fever FM. Each cluster will comprise of three areas and a minimum of twenty listeners/volunteers will form part of each cluster. The ‘Tree of Joy’ initiative by Casa Grande will be launched immediately after Pongal in the presence of Chennai City Corporation Deputy Commissioner, Mr. K.S. Kandasamy and the renowned Indian Test Cricketer who will be the face of the campaign.
As ‘Vardah’ had debilitating sway on Chennai; uprooting and spooning more than 1 lakh trees, there is an urgent need to regain the green cover. Every small measure is needed to help re-build Chennai. The trees that Casa Grande will be planting as part of its initial drive will help the city which is grappling with the devastation and help in the re-building process.
M. Arun Kumar, Managing Director, Casa Grande Pvt. Ltd. said, “We at Casa Grande wanted to contribute to the loss of biodiversity, improving water availability and reducing erosion, especially after the recent cyclone that left the city shattered. We benefited out of trees planted by our previous generation and we wanted the next generation to cherish the wonderful creation. Our intentions are simple and clear, we are making the city a better place.”
Casa Grande will also tie-up with the schools in pre-identified areas to lend support for the campaign. Casa Grande intends to plant more than 1000 trees from the day of the launch in and around the city. Casa Grande will ensure the maintenance of the trees in the area clusters with the help of Fever FM RJ’s, volunteers and the organizations involved in the activity.
