Ram R Krishnan has been appointed president of Emerson Climate Technologies – Asia. In this position, he will oversee Emerson Climate Technologies’ operations, including sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, quality and finance for Asia and the Middle East. He will be based in Hong Kong.
Previously, Krishnan was president of Emerson Climate Technologies’ refrigeration business. He had held the position since 2007 and was based in the United States.
“I’m very excited to lead Emerson Climate Technologies in Asia, which continues to be among our fastest growing markets,” said Krishnan. “Looking to the future, we are confident we will see continued growth opportunities for our business in areas such as refrigeration and commercial air conditioning. My immediate priorities are to meet customers and staff throughout the region to understand how we can drive new levels of technology innovation and service experience.”
Asia is now the second largest market for Emerson Climate Technologies after the United States and contributed 23 percent of the business segment’s sales in 2010. Emerson’s expertise in climate control technologies, services and integrated solutions has enabled it to develop an extensive presence in the region and maintain a leadership position.
Krishnan joined Emerson in 1994 as a project engineer for Xomox and held a series of senior positions with Emerson Process Management’s Valve Automation and Gas Chromatographs businesses before being appointed president of Emerson Process Management Analytical Liquid in 2005.
Krishnan holds a bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, a Master of Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, USA and a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University in Ohio, USA.
