The SP 1400 is a compact, high performance and highly-fuel efficient machine, with an output capacity of 52 m3/h of concrete. The product is designed with key features, including the output governed hydraulic pump that ensures that the prime mover is never over loaded. The machine is also equipped with the automatic governor that splits available engine output optimally into oil flow and oil pressure and allows the concrete pump to run the best possible output level. Simultaneously, the manual de-stroker valve can be used to set the required fine tuning to set stroke rate and output independent of the automatic governor.
The open circuit, combined with the SCHWING designed “Hi–Flow” spool block ensures minimum heat generation in the hydraulics, resulting in negligible output losses and minimum stress for the hydraulic components. During short breaks in pumping, the main control spool is shifted to “idle circuit” so that all the oil coming from the hydraulic pump exerts led pressure back to the tank, thereby keeping oil temperatures low.
The feed pump, that runs on a continual basis and turns valuable energy into wasteful heat, has been eliminated from the SP 1400. As a second function, the main spool also isolates the drive circuits from the concrete pump system. In this way, the concrete cylinders are “parked” and support the column of concrete in the pipeline. There is thus no danger of the concrete slipping back, segregating and over flowing out of the hopper.
The special features of the SP 1400 include:
Integrated Control Block: The hydraulic control system is integrated within the drive. The compact Control Block and minimal hydraulic lines makes the equipment reliable and durable.
Hydraulics: Direct high–torque driven on to the agitator shaft as well as robust design of all hydraulic components in conjunction with constant flow micro filtering of the hydraulic oil ensure operational reliability and a long services life.
Maintenance: A central bank of grease nipples supplies grease to all the lube points on agitator and rock valve.
Fast Switching Valve: Compact design individual switching circuit ensures quick operation of rock valve.
Remote Control: The SP 1400 comes complete with a 10 m cable remote control as a standard feature.
Instead of the normal rock valve, the SP 1400 incorporates a new generation rock valve, that has been engineered by SCHWING Stetter’s in-house R&D unit, after undertaking extensive studies to understand the behavior of tough concrete in various developing countries. This rugged, reliable rock valve is highly suited for stiff, difficult mixes of concrete and ideal for use in combination with the long-stroke pumping unit. Customers can use the hard-facing layer for a longer service life of the machine.
The SP 1400 pumping unit, is characterized by a stroking length of 1400mm and a pumping cylinder diameter of 180mm and capable of conveying 52m/h of concrete with only 24 strokes per minute of the pump.
