Indian Power Minister visits Sweden and Italy

A high level Indian delegation led by Union Minister of Power Sushilkumar Shinde is on a visit to Sweden and Italy from June 20 to 24, 2011 to promote cooperation in power sector. India is looking to attract prospective investors from these two countries to invest in Indian power sector.
Shinde will have bilateral meeting with Maud Olofsson, Minister of Enterprise and Energy and Communications, Sweden. He will also address members of the Swedish Trade Council to apprise them of the steps taken by the Indian Government for carrying out reforms in the power sector and opening up opportunities of investment.

In Italy, Shinde will hold bilateral talks with Paolo Romani, Minister for Italian Economic Development. He will also meet the Italian industry representatives including Italian companies already present in Indian power sector.
This visit is expected to act as a catalyst for prospective investors in Indian power sector as well as highlight the growth and reforms in the power sector in India.
