Ingersoll Rand has launched Technology Convergence - solutions that integrate all technology systems going into a facility or infrastructure and give facility users a single window to view and monitor data.
With Ingersoll Rand’s Technology Convergence, various systems within a facility (such as Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) system controls, sophisticated security systems, building management systems, asset tracking etc.) communicate with each other resulting in coordinated responses in various situations. This leads to greater comfort and safety for occupants and helps lower maintenance costs. Ingersoll Rand’s occupation based lighting and HVAC controls integrated with access control systems provides significant energy efficiency. Additionally, complex technologies often handled by disparate entities can now be installed and managed by a single expert source - Ingersoll Rand, thus leading to greater accountability and efficiency.
Such intelligent concepts leading to greater safety and efficiency have also been extended to mobile cold chain fleet management.
Ingersoll Rand’s web-enabled temperature and fleet monitoring system will provide greater traceability throughout the cold chain.
Ingersoll Rand will deliver this expertise of Technology Convergence through three industry specialists in its family of brands – Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies under the brand ‘Schlage’; ‘Trane’ a leader in the HVAC industry and ‘Thermo King’ a world leader in transport temperature control systems for a variety of mobile applications.
Speaking at the launch, Venkatesh Valluri, Chairman and President, Ingersoll Rand India said “Ingersoll Rand strives to be at the forefront of customer-centric innovation and we build solutions that help our customers increase efficiency, lower costs and simplify complex technologies. With Technology Convergence Solutions our customers will be able to manage assets intelligently through a single window. Various technologies can be monitored with ease and such integration will provide greater flexibility for future expansion or changes in equipment. With Ingersoll Rand’s strong family of brands and unparalleled service, customers can be assured of a single expert source for their technology integration needs.”
At the ACREX 2011, India’s largest show for HVAC and Refrigeration industry, Ingersoll Rand launched its Technology Convergence solutions and demonstrated intelligent, interconnected concepts in HVAC, Security and Refrigeration. Technology demonstrations at Ingersoll Rand’s stall included –
1. ‘Smarter Building’ scenario responses in case of a fire alarm; forced opening of a door managed by access control system; occupation and user-preferred Lighting and HVAC set-points
2. Remote energy monitoring of a building (Godrej Bhavan, Mumbai)
3. Tracking of a refrigerated food transportation vehicle - using GPRS technology for data communication and GPS technology for vehicle location information
4. Ingersoll Rand’s convergent technologies communicate through open standards protocol allowing seamless integration with legacy controls from other manufacturers. With Ingersoll Rand’s Technology Convergence solutions, facilities are able to manage their technology needs better, merge legacy systems and control end-of-life costs allowing for smoother expansions and upgrades in the future.
