India adds 975 MW thermal power in June

The Ministry of Power informed that the country had thermal power capacity addition of 975 MW during the month of June, 2010.

The projects commissioned during the month were Wardha Warora TPP, U-I (135 MW) of M/s Wardha Power Co. Ltd.; Rosa TPS, Ph-I, U-2 (300 MW) of Rosa Power Co. Ltd.; Barsingsar TPP, U-1 (125 MW) of NLC; Raichur TPS Extn., U-8 (250 MW) of KPCL; and Konaseema CCPP ST (165 MW) of Konaseema Gas Power Ltd.
In the Hydro sector, there were capacity addition of 40 MW last month, after commissioning of Sewa-II H.E. Project, U-1 (40 MW) of NHPC Ltd.
In the transmission sector, 295 CKM of 220 kV AC lines; 434 CKM of 400 kV AC lines; 253 CKM of +/- 500 kV HVDC lines; and 63 CKM of 765 kV AC lines have been laid during the month of June, 2010.
