With a theme of ‘Go Green’, Schwing Stetter Gmbh had recently exhibited at this year’s bauma with a number of new products including concrete mixing equipment, truck mixers and concrete pumps as well as placing booms. It has set a new world record in vertical pumping: 715 m – with an SP 4000, a stationary medium-size concrete pump that was successfully employed at the Parbati Hydroelectric Project in India.
Gerhard Schwing, Chairman, Schwing Stetter Gmbh, said: “Held once in three years, the bauma fair is one of the most important platforms for construction equipment players globally, giving us an opportunity to showcase the pioneering initiatives that we undertake in our products. This year, all our efforts revolve around the theme “Go Green”, under which we are implementing various measures to create a more sustainable environment.”
The company has taken considerable measures to reduce CO2 emissions by 100 tons annually. “The high-quality machine paints have been completely changed over to a water-soluble base, thus reducing solvent output by 30% while providing increased covering power at the same time,” it said.
Schwing added: “We have also incorporated some unique green features in the products. Our clients look for methods that will enable them to optimize their investments more effectively and our products have been designed, keeping this in mind. We are sure that the products will be received well by our customer.”
