Philips Electronics has unveiled a range of designer luminaires for the home/office and for kids under the names Ledino and Kidsplace.

The Ledino range, which targets the consumer LED lighting segment for home and work spaces, provides gentle and natural light and ensures uniform light output through the use of the latest technology.

According to the company, the strength and clarity of light from this range is comparable with a typical 40W halogen light bulb, and yet it consumes only 7.5W, thereby saving 80% energy. Moreover, the minimum lifespan of the light source and electronics is said to be at least 20 years. The Philips Ledino indoor collection comprises ceiling, spot, wall and desk lights.

For offices, Philips has designed waves of light with LEDs as a part of their Ledino range. It offers multiple LED lighting solutions for different areas like the DayWave suspended solutions for boardrooms and senior management enclosures, dynamic colour changing for breakout and high visibility areas, accelerated energy savers, which provide more than 50% savings for regular circulation areas, and outdoor LED solutions for building façades and glass façades.

The Kidsplace collection consists of child-friendly lights with a playful twist. It offers child-specific ergonomics, including switches that are easy and safe for children to use.
These two ranges will be sold through over 200 specialised Philips retail outlets, including the Philips Light Lounges.

“Increasingly, people are looking for lighting solutions that complement stylish and contemporary interiors,” said Rajeev Chopra, country head, Philips Lighting.

The company also launched its new street lighting solutions and introduced the Master LED lamp range for hotels, which can replace their existing lighting in general and in decorative applications.

Philips had recently bagged an order of 15 million CFLs from Kerala State Electricity Board, which were distributed to 7.5 million households in Kerala. This, reportedly, will help achieve a peak load reduction of approximately 200 MW, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 0.5 million tonnes per annum.
