The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure has approved the implementation of six projects for four laning on NH-1A in Jammu and Kashmir under the NHDP Phase II on DBFOT (Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer) basis. The total project cost is estimated at Rs9377.46 crore under the DBFOT pattern. The concession period is for 20 years including the construction period of three to five years.
The projects are from Srinagar to Banihal, Qazigund to Banihal, Ramban to Banihal, Udhampur to Ramban, Chenani to Nashri and Jammu to Udhampur sections. The project will help improve the infrastructure in the state and will facilitate in reducing the journey time from Jammu to Srinagar.
The Committee has also approved the implementation of six lanning of 114 km long Tumkur-Chitradurga section of NH-4 under the NHDP Phase V on DBFOT basis. The total project cost is estimated at Rs839 crore and the concession period is 26 years including a construction period of 30 months.
The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure also gave its approval for procurement of three Trailer Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHDs) of 5000 cubic meter hopper capacity from IHC Dredgers BV, The Netherlands. The total indicative cost for the project is Rs1570.21 crore.
