HeidelbergCement India Ltd in its financial results 2009 said that its gross sales has increased by 8% to Rs1,040 crore and net sales increased by 13% to Rs936 crore due to better realizations. The company says these results were primarily driven by growth in volumes in home markets, better realisations and cost control initiatives undertaken them.
The company’s cement volumes grew moderately by 2% over last year. Its EBITDA for year 2009 grew by 41% to Rs205 crore, and profit before tax increased to Rs175 crore, reflecting an increase of 49% over last year. The net profit after tax stood at Rs134 crore in 2009 against Rs132 crore in 2008.
HeidelbergCement’s present installed capacity is 3.07 MTPA. Given the expected upturn in the years to follow, the company says it has embarked upon a coordinated expansion project at its Damoh and Jhansi units.
