Mr Kishore Avarsekar, CMD of Unity Infraprojects Ltd has been conferred with the Udyog Rattan Award in recognition of his contribution towards Infrastructure development in the Asia Pacific Regions.
Unity Infraprojects Limited has further been awarded the Excellence Award in appreciation of its best practices implemented in Safety, Human Resource Management, Productivity, Cost Management and Client Service. These awards have been given at the hands of His Excellency Mr. Korn Dabbaransi, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand at the award function ceremony recently held in Bangkok, Thailand.
These awards were constituted by Institute of Economic Studies (IES)* along with Indo - Thai Economic Forum. IES is one of the non profit premier research oriented and awareness promoting organizations of the Government of India.
Shri. Avarsekar has been instrumental in turning the company into a potential force in the Infrastructure segment. Consistent initiatives over the last three decades have ensured a turnaround and a steady growth for Unity.
Under his leadership, the company has achieved a turnover of Rs 1,130 crore in 2008-09; a growth rate of 33 percent over the previous year and within 4 years company is targeting a turnover of Rs. 5000 cr.
The award recognizes Unity's contribution to the field of Infrastructure. The company was also applauded for the quality of talent that it attracts, retains and for being instrumental in creating a highly knowledgeable talent pool and making Unity the major Infrastructure player in India and abroad.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Avarsekar said: 'I am very pleased and humbled to receive this award from such a well-respected entity. I and my team at Unity Infraprojects have worked rigorously to make Unity Infraprojects as a global Infrastructure brand. We still have a way to go, it is nice to be reminded to look back and see how much progress has been made.’
