Efkon, a market leader in toll management systems, has recently entered into a joint venture recently with Intolligent Road Management Services Ltd. Pushkar Kulkarni, chief executive office & member of the board, Efkon India Pvt Ltd informed Construction Week (India) about this latest development.
“This will widen our scope of operations to a great extent,” Kulkarni said. Intolligent is a company started by Pandurang Dandavate, ex-MSRDC official.Dandavate is considered as one of the pioneers of toll operations in the country.
The new JV will be a 50:50 partnership with Efkon providing the conceptualisation, systems as well as software expertise. Intolligent will provide the manpower and take care of all the physical processes. Both companies have considerable expertise and experience in their respective fields and will be sharing knowledge as well as best practices through this JV.

The JV has begun its journey on a positive note and has already bagged a couple of projects at the time of going to print. The first one is the Pink City Expressway project on the Jaipur-Gurgaon National Highway stretch. “We will not only provide the equipment for this project but will also take care of toll operations and collection,” Kulkarni said. The JV has also recently bagged the Vijaywada Tollway project where it will be responsible for the entire road toll operations.
