Essar sets-up 4th steel service centre

Essar Steel recently inaugurated its fourth steel service centre facility in India at Bahadurgarh near New Delhi. Set up at a cost of Rs 750 million and with a capacity to process 2.5 lakh tonnes of steel per year, the facility was inaugurated by Sunil Kant Munjal, chairman, Hero Corporate Service Ltd.

Speaking on the occasion Shashi Ruia, chairman, Essar Group said: “Service centres are an independent business in western countries. Essar is developing this concept in India.”

J Mehra, CEO, Essar Steel, said that in evolving markets like India, customer service and just-in-time delivery to key economic segments play an important role. In this pursuit, we plan to invest over a Rs 1000 crore for setting up of such facilities across India.
