Tile major H&R Johnson has firmed up plans to invest Rs100 crore in a new floor tiles plant at Rajkot (Gujarat) and is likely to expand its existing units over the next one year according to its MD Vijay Aggarwal. The company is targeting a 18% growth in revenues to touch Rs1,300 crore this fiscal, an increase of Rs200 crore over 2008-09.
While the proposed facility at Rajkot with an estimated capacity of 15,000 square metres per day will absorb an investment of about Rs50 crore, the capacity of the existing wall tiles unit there will also be scaled up to 24,000 sq metres per day over the next one year. The new facility is expected to become operational over the next three months. The company also plans to increase the number of its retail units to 20 from the existing six by this year end.
