In the absence of an Indian supplier, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) is scouting for technology partners to meet its requirements of heavy forgings.
The company is sourcing it from Saarschmide in Germany and from Italy and Japan.
The company is expanding capacity and in the absence of an Indian supplier, there are delays in the supply by vendors due to which the company’s orders are suffering.
BHEL is procuring the large orders on an EPC basis, and it is looking for new vendors who can supply it the same on time.
Globally, the power sector is in full swing and this has created problems in supply chain logistics.
The company is also looking for a JV partner to manufacture high capacity transformers in India.
