Jaypee to set up Rs1600 cr cement plant in AP

The new plant will come up on a 250 acre land

The Jaypee Group has plans to set up a cement plant in Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh. It is expected to cost Rs1,600 crore and will come up on 250 acres of land.

The plant will have a production capacity of five million tonnes. The company currently has a capacity of around nine million tonne per annum at its production facilities in the Satna cluster in Uttar Pradesh.

The group is acquiring land on its own and will invest in phases in two years. The location was chosen because of the proximity of large deposits of limestone.
