Despite the rather gloomy market situation, Classic Marble Group has gone ahead with its launch of a marble gallery in Mumbai.

Being one of the largest importers and manufacturers of marble in India, Classic will showcase over 200 varieties of marble at this gallery called Classic Galleria. The collection includes natural marble imported from 40 countries including Italy, Spain and Greece.

“We will be displaying a wide stock of composite as well as natural marble here. In fact, some of the exotic colours available with us are exclusive,” Subodh Shah, director, Classic Marble Group told Construction Week India.

Shah also added that he was expecting a good response despite the general slowdown. “There is definitely a demand in the market for marble and our aim is to cater to this demand,” he said.

Shah also threw some light on the market trends. “As opposed to whites, nowadays the tendency is to go for greys and patterned designs. Also, architects as well as users today are not afraid to experiment and hence we see demand for different type of unconventional designs,” he said.
